Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ Serving Under the Command of Jesus

Attached below is a sermon I recently preached for Grace Line Church in Homa Bay, Kenya. No, I wasn’t standing there in person on the shores of Lake Victoria, but thanks to Zoom, I had the privilege of opening God’s Word with Pastor Kennedy and his congregation. This was actually my third time sharing with them, and each time has been a rich encouragement. For this occasion, I reduced my sermon on Romans 6 and 7 to written form so that other pastors, teachers, and believers might also benefit. The chapters are among Paul’s most searching: dying to sin, living to Christ, and wrestling with the ongoing battle within. I encourage you to read the biblical passages first, then work through this sermon, and be strengthened as you grow in Christ.
