The challenges and frustrations we all face on a daily basis due to an overloaded inbox, seemingly endless Zoom meetings, and the crush of year-end budgets can lead to an aridity in our relationship - especially our relationship with God.

On this Second Sunday of Advent Isaiah speaks of the coming Messiah: “His delight is in the fear of the Lord, and He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, nor decide by the hearing of His ears.” Isaiah 11:3. “For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7

As we approach the end of the year I’m challenged to pick up my Bible a bit more (Yeah - with a coffee from my new Nespresso;) and hope to step away from the dullness of the daily grind and trust God to change my heart, habits, and focus this Advent Season.
